How to Create a Simple Invoice
Objective:
This procedure explains how to create a simple invoice for a business transaction.
Materials Needed:
- Computer
- Invoice template (can be found in Microsoft Word or Excel)
- Customer information (name, address, and contact)
- List of products or services sold
- Price list for products/services
Steps:
- Open the Template 
 Start by opening the invoice template on your computer. You can use Microsoft Word or Excel. There are pre-made templates that you can use.
- Add Your Business Details 
 At the top of the invoice, enter the name of your business, address, phone number, and email.
- Add Customer Information 
 Below your business details, write the name of the customer, their address, and contact details. Make sure the information is correct.
- List Products/Services 
 In the middle of the invoice, list the products or services provided. Include a description, quantity, unit price, and total price for each item or service.
- Calculate Total 
 After listing all items, add up the totals for each one to get the final amount. Don’t forget to include any taxes or discounts.
- Include Payment Terms 
 At the bottom of the invoice, mention the payment due date and any other payment instructions, like the method of payment.
- Save and Send 
 Save the invoice file on your computer. Then, you can print it or send it to the customer via email.
